Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about the platform, plans, and how theSimCal fits your Simulation Centre.

First, we review the software with you to make sure a trial would be valuable. If so, we work with you to set up a fully operational, personalised domain — then you try it free for three months.

Happy with it? We transition you to the right plan. Not the right fit? We close the domain after the trial with no charges. You truly have nothing to risk!

Certainly! All accounts are securely backed up in the cloud, and you can export your scheduling information at any time in iCal or XLSX format. Your analytics can be exported too, as a shareable report.

No — users can choose 'Continue as a Guest'. They'll miss out on a few features though, like automatic form field population and having all their bookings under one account.

The software requires basic information — name, email address, session name, and number of attendees. Additional details and file uploads are optional.

Beyond that, the booking form is fully customizable: add text fields, check-boxes, radio buttons, and number fields to gather any specific data you require.

Absolutely! You can activate Feedback Forms that are automatically emailed to users when their sessions end. Users rate their overall experience from one to five and can leave comments, questions, or concerns. All scores and feedback are stored in the software, ready to review at any time.

The software automatically gathers a wealth of data:

• Total hours booked • Set-up, session, and clean-up hours • Total attendees and their distribution • Sessions by status (approved, cancelled, declined) • Unique users and average session length • Session length distribution • Day-of-week usage • Room usage and utilization • Asset usage — equipment and people • Key insights, like your peak usage day and most active room

This helps you assess your facility's performance — and proves instrumental for accreditation purposes.

Yes — there are three account types, each with different permission levels.

1. User Accounts
Users can access their own booking Requests and Notifications, modify the details of their requests, and cancel their own bookings.

2. Staff Accounts
Staff can view all booking Requests and Notifications, edit booking information, and cancel requests on behalf of users. They also have access to the Control Panel Calendar, Staff Notes, Feedback Results, and Analytics.

3. Admin Accounts
Admins have the highest level of access, with complete control over the platform — all bookings, settings pages, and user accounts, except other users' passwords, which remain securely encrypted.

No — for security and privacy reasons, bookings are tied to the account that created them and cannot be transferred to another account.
